Heavyweight Belting

Flexco Bolt Solid Plate
Flexco Bolt Solid Plate fasteners are engineered to meet the demands of the toughest material- handling applications. They can be applied to belts mechanically rated up to 620PIW (105 kN/m), and are commonly used on higher-tension main-haulage belts used for highly abrasive materials such as sand, gravel, and crushed stone, as well as coal, cement, and salt.

Bolt Solid Plate fasteners provide a strong, sift-free splice with superior holding ability. The strength of this fastener is derived from the compression of the plates with high tensil strength bolts. The bolts compress top and bottom plates to distribute splice tension evenly across the entire width of each fastener plate. For added strength and pull-out resistance, specially formed teeth penetrate deep into the belt carcass without damaging the carcass fibers.
Specially designed templets, punches and boring tools make it easy to quickly and accurately punch holes into belts. Fasteners can then be installed on site using portable hand or power tools. The exclusive Flexco piloted bolt speeds installation. The piloted bolt tip cradles nuts securely in place, and simplifies installation by automatically aligning the bolt and nut threads.

Plus, our Bolt Solid Plate fasteners are being converted to the new Quick-FitTM design. This design uses a washer to hold the bolt in place, engaged in the locking tabs, while the nuts are tightened from above. The washer is made of a grade of polypropylene that will compress if caught between the fastener and conveyor belt. The Quick Fit fasteners reduce your installation time by eliminating the need to assemble the bottom plates and bolts in “E” and “VP” boxes as well as in “C” and “VBP” buckets. It also reduces your clean-up costs by eliminating the need to remove all clips from the fasteners prior to operating your conveyor belt.

Flexco Bolt Hinged
For belts operating over smaller pulleys such as in construction equipment and road machinery Flexco Bolt Hinged fasteners are strong, dependable and easy-to-install.

Designed as a compression fastener, Bolt Hinged is fastened to the belt ends with high tensile strength bolts. These compress the plates in the belt cover. Additional holding capability is provided by the fastener teeth that inbed in the belt without damage to the belt carcass. So splice tension is distributed across the entire plate width and teeth secure the fastener to resist pull-out.

Hinged construction makes Bolt Hinged fasteners ideal for applications requiring frequent belt-length alterations, the joint can be separated simply by removing the hinge pin. A variety of hinge pins are available to match your application.

On-site installation requires only portable hand or power tools. A specially designed templet and boring tool or belt punch quickly and accurately punches bolt holes into belts. Installation is also simplified by our exclusive piloted bolt. Tapered bolt tips cradle nuts securely in place and eliminate the need to twist nuts onto bolts by hand during installation set-up.

Flexco VPTM
Now Flexco Bolt Solid Plate fasteners are available as strips of rubber-covered top plates offering increased splice life and maximized belt availability. They can be applied to belts mechanically rated up to 440 PIW (75 kN/m) and are ideal for highly abrasive materials such as sand, gravel and crushed stone.

Flexco VPTM fasteners provide increased impact protection of top plates and reduced plate exposure to wear - resulting in longer splice life. The rubber covering offers a sift-free, sealed splice to protect against seepage of fines and moisture plus reduced noise on return idlers and other conveyor components. VP rubber-covered steel fasteners allow for a continuous, smooth surface when plate strips are countersunk. And, in many cases, provide for improved belt cleaner interface and help to extend the life of your belt cleaner blade.

Flexco VP fasteners are applied on-site with field-proven portable hand or power tools. The special VP templet is used to locate holes quickly and precisely for fast installation. VP fasteners come standard with our Quick-FitTM Pre-Assemblies. Quick Fit reduces your installation time by eliminating the need to assemble the bottom plates and bolts in “VP” boxes and “VPB” buckets. Plus our exclusive piloted bolts cradle nuts securely in place eliminating the need to twist nuts onto bolts by hand to keep them in place.

Flexco VP rubber covered steel top plates are available with steel or abrasion resistant MegAlloy bottom plates.

Flexco SRTM Rivet Hinged
Flexco is proud to be the fastener of choice in the underground mining industry. It delivers the performance, long life and easy installation that maximizes belt availability and helps keep productivity on a roll.
Designed for rubber plied and PVC solid woven belting, and for worn belts unfit for vulcanized splices, the Flexco SRTM Scalloped EdgeTM fastener features a low profile that significantly reduces the fasteners exposure to cleaner blades, skirt rubber, and return idlers. The staggered rivet pattern also provides maximum holding ability by allowing the rivets to pass between the carcass fibers without damaging them.

A built-in viewport simplifies fastener positioning. And self-setting rivets are installed from the top side of the belt for faster installation.

Hinged construction makes Rivet Hinged fasteners ideal for applications requiring frequent belt-length alterations, the joint can be separated simply by removing the hinge pin. A variety of hinge pins are available to match your application.

A variety of Flexco SR Scalloped Edge fasteners are available for belts with a mechanical fastener rating up to 2000 PIW (350 kN/m). In addition, the fasteners, hinge pins and rivets are all available in a variety of materials.
New to this fastener family is the R9, designed for the most demanding high-tension or thick belt applications. R9 has a greater reachback, a thicker plate and an enhanced loop area to accomodate a larger diameter hinge pin. Designed for mainline and panel belts with mechanical fastener ratings up to 2000 P.I.W. (350 kN/m). Also designed for thick belts 5/8”-1” (16-25.5 mm) used in front of chute transfer points and for other high tension impact applications.

Flexco BRTM Rivet Solid Plate
Our heavy-duty Rivet Solid Plate Fastener System is recommended for the most demanding high- tension applications. The staggered, multiple-point attachment delivers long-lasting holding ability for mechanical ratings up to 800 PIW (140 kN/m).

Rivet Solid Plate fasteners feature a smooth coined-edge profile eliminating fastener projections and potential hang-ups. The broad width and heavy gauge of the plates also results in long fastener wear life.
Thanks to the Flexco self-setting rivet method and portable MBRTA installation tools, Rivet Solid Plate fasteners install quickly and easily.

Alligator Rivet
The Alligator Rivet Fastener System from Flexco simplifies routine baler belt maintenance. The Alligator Rivet features a sturdy design that delivers a long-lasting, dependable splice that wont pull out. Fasteners, rivets and connecting pins are constructed from durable, abrasion-resistant stainless steel for long life.

The Alligator Rivet splice is easier to install and less costly than other competitive brands. And, without ever removing the belts from the baler, field installation is quick and easy with only the portable application tool and a hammer.
